Barataria Bay Project

Objective: Conduct Barataria Bay Bathymetry and Hydrodynamics Surveys post construction of levees and determine the changes as well as the cause of change.  Two sets of (a total of five) surveys were conducted in the winter of 2013 and summer of 2015.  Half dozens of instruments were used to measure hydrodynamics conditions over one year plus time period.

 

 

 

 

In the following, we briefly present in an informal way of the progress of the Barataria Bay Tidal Passes Project for bathymetry, flows, and analysis of the post construction changes.

 

So far we have conducted five different surveys using our small boat equipped with a new engine.  The first four survey data are summarized as below.  The last survey repeated pretty much the same route as the first four surveys but at half of the spatial resolution.
